Arcade Club Launches In Haslingden

Published on 11/06/2014 by in Blog

Arcade Club finally touched down in Haslingden on Saturday 1st November 2014.  After its announcement at Play Blackpool back in May, its been a good few months of preparation and hard work to get not only the games into top shape but the venue to look right.

“We have had a busy year with building New Frontier Arcade and other projects.  Now was the right time.”. says Andy Palmer, the creator and owner with a welcoming smile.

It was busy but not uncomfortable on the night as you’ll see in the video and it was great to see so many people come to play a selection of games going back to 1978’s Asteroids.

One visitor was overheard saying, “You’ve created a youth club for the over 40’s” which brought smiles all round but Arcade Club is not just for the old.

“We want to ensure the next generation and those after get chance to play these games, the games we grew up with and the origins of so many modern titles”.

The entry charge is £10 for the entire night, you can come in and go out as much as you want and there are refreshment vouchers included in your entry but don’t worry if you’re the thirsty sort of person, all the drinks and snacks are at rock bottom prices – almost 80’s prices.

Its suitable for children from around 8 years and upwards – that’s mainly due to the height of the machines and reaching the control panels.

Games like Ikaruga, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Out Run and Star Wars as well as premium pinballs including Addams Family, Twilight Zone and the much hallowed Metallica LE were on display with no shortage of players.

“If there’s a specific game you’d like to see just let us know, it’s a bit shooter heavy right now but that’ll change”.

Arcade Club will open every Saturday from 6pm to 10pm and will be rotating its games from its stock regularly to keep people’s interest.

For those wanting a private party, for very small groups, the arcade club venue can be hired on any other night and for slightly larger groups their other project, New Frontier Arcade can be used.  Contact Andy for the full details on the details below.
